New www.whygardner.com website

Check out our new Gardner website.  You will see that we have added associates and services.  Gardner & Associates continues to grow our support for our clients.  We would appreciate your reaction to the update.  Is there anything we are missing?

G&A adds associates to broaden services

Recently, G&A added four new consultants to meet expanding client needs.  Dirk Smith (20 years) and Diane LeBlanc  (34 years) join G&A as consultants.  Joe Schafer adds his 25 years of experience as a grant writer and third-party grant evaluator.  Trina Mitchell brings her 12 years of experience in event planning and management.  Together, Joe, Trina, Dirk and Diane expand the impact that G&A can have for our clients and for your needs.

Looking back on what G&A has accomplished

Recently, in a follow-up to a RFP Gardner & Associates was asked to summarize what we have done in the past ten years.  When we put it down on paper, we were impressed.  Paul, Fred, Walt, Joe, Dirk, Trina and Diane are proud to share that summary and hope that you are impressed, too:

The three principals in Gardner & Associates have had 100 years in the fundraising profession.  During that time we have worked with NPO’s in every area of the not-for-profit sector.  Most of those years have been focused on education, including from K-12 institutions, private colleges and universities, and public colleges and universities.

During our consulting practice clients have consisted of, University of Arkansas, Old Main; University of Arkansas, Wesley Foundation; Arkansas Tech University, Wesley Foundation; University of Arkansas at Little Rock; University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences; Arkansas State University, Jonesboro; Arkansas State University, Mountain Home; University of Central Arkansas; Henderson State University; West Texas A&M University and Northeastern State University.

In addition to the public institutions referenced, G&A has had successful engagements with numerous education clients such as Harding University; Philander Smith College; York College; Ohio Valley University and Lyon College.  Additionally, G&A has worked in the K-12 education environment with The New School (Fayetteville, AR); Harding Academy of Memphis and Catholic High School for Boys (Little Rock, AR).

Among the largest and most noteworthy campaigns in size has been, $63.5M at University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences; $48M at West Texas A&M University (currently $13M over goal with three months remaining); $36M at University of Central Arkansas; $34M at Philander Smith College; $30M at Harding University; $7.8M (currently on a $7.5M goal with nine months remaining) at Ohio Valley University.

In the 15 years the current principals of G&A have worked together, we have managed 69 campaigns, six of which have been among public universities.  In the past 10 years G&A is proud to have assisted clients in raising nearly $650M.

In the area of grant research and writing, G&A has assisted in government grants from Title III ($1.2M); HUD ($3.4M) and other Department of Education and various other government grant assistance totaling $5.0M.

Most noteworthy for G&A has been the assistance with institutions writing of proposals to well known national and regional foundations, among whom are Kresge ($1.9M); Mabee ($2.6M); DW Reynolds ($59.4M); Windgate ($220,000); Sturgis ($250,000); Brown Foundation ($100,000); Catholic Health Initiatives ($250,000); Jones Family Trust ($10M); John York Family Trust ($1.2M); Charles Frueauff ($310,000); and W.
