Joseph Schafer

Joseph is an experienced grant writer and researcher, and has consulted with nonprofits on program evaluation, management, strategy and policy development.  His experience with grants involves both sides of the process:  grant writing and grant management.  As a successful grant writer and researcher he understands the needs of organizations that are seeking grants, and is able to find funding sources that match your organization’s interests.  Joseph also has worked as a grants manager for nonprofits, and understands how NPO’s work, and their need to balance program work and administrative demands.  His background in nonprofits gives him insight to your grant funding needs.

Joseph holds a Master’s Degree from the President Clinton School of Public Service.  As part of this program he worked as a consultant to the Arkansas Department of Human Services, the Arkansas Foodbank, and internationally for an NPO in Sri Lanka.  He worked at Heifer International as a Program Officer and Global Network Coordinator and at the Arkansas Coalition for Excellence as Education Director.  In earlier work Joseph was an Extension Educator with the Cooperative Extension Service.  He is currently on the board, as treasurer, of a small nonprofit organization based in Little Rock.
